This site has loads of govenment information in map form.  It also has a function that allows the user to combine information and create their own maps.

This is the United Nations' site designed for students and educators.  It has information on individual countries as well as international events.

This site has the information collected by the census, analyzed and searchable.

Intellegence and Foreign Policy

This is the Central Intellegence Agency's public offering.  Under the Library section is the World Factbook, a document that contains general information on nations and United States foreign policy.  There are many other useful publications  under the library section and on the "Kid's Page".
